Bird poop luck.

So, in some cultures it’s considered good luck if a bird lets a load fall on you.

But if you stand in one spot for a couple of minutes, and then just take a step or two and hear a splap! right in that spot in which you’d been standing, is that good luck or bad?

‘Cause I feel pretty lucky. But in some cultures that might be bad.

I’m so confused.

This is just depressing

In addition to learning that we have Paul Martin as our Prime Minister for the foreseeable future, there is another important vote going on this week.

CTV News has a poll: who would you like to celebrate Canada Day with. The results, as of about two minutes ago:

Oye. Am I ever proud to live in a country with the taste of a drunk Texan who finds himself in Las Vegas at 3:00 am.

Baby’s first DVD!

Well, Pat & Terry are leaving in the morning. But tonight, before they left, they gave us one of these:

It’s a DVD full of pictures for little newborn babies and video and vocabulary lessons in all sorts of languages. And a great deal of Bach. I’ll probably go into much more detail and reference it frequently in the now-all-about-Rowan space.

But in the meantime, I have to mention the part that cracks me up.

On the back, in amongst all the copyright information, is the line

Einstein and Albert Einstein are trademarks of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.”

I didn’t know that you could trademark a German who’s been dead for almost fifty years.

Wacky.
