the friday five

from the friday five:

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
Finally getting this website up and running. After two and a half years.

2. What was your biggest disappointment?
I was pretty devastated when Firefly was cancelled. But it worked out alright: I got the complete series on DVD for Christmas. And I’m looking forward to the movie next November.

3. What do you hope the new year brings?
A healthy little baby.

4. Will you be making any New Year’s resolutions? If yes, what will they be?
No, not really. I’ve never really believed in that sort of thing.

5. What are your plans for New Year’s Eve?
Same as every year, Pinky: plan to take over the world!

from the friday five:

1. List your five favourite beverages.
Coke, Coke, coffee, Coke, Granville Island Pale Ale.

2. List your five favourite websites.
macupdate.com, torturedpotato.com, [this one], internet movie database, creativepro.com.

3. List your five favourite snack foods.
M&Ms, Clodhoppers, quesadilla flavoured Doritos, and mojos. Mojos are deep fried potato wedges that we get at our local SuperValu grocery. Yummy yummy stuff. The more astute among you may have noticed that there are only four items listed. This is because there isn’t a fifth. If I’m snacking, it’s going to be one of these things.

4. List your five favourite board and/or card games.
Cribagge, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, solitaire, and crosswords (if they count).

5. List your five favourite computer and/or game system games.
Across Lite, Text Twist, the aforementioned 18 Wheeler (Dreamcast), Spyro the Dragon (PlayStation), and a really great PlayStation game that I can’t find to buy, Danger Girl (based on a series of comic books).

the friday five

from the friday 5:

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
Oh, heck no. It’s one of the reasons I moved to Vancouver in the first place. That, and much fewer bugs.

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
I’m pretty easy going, and don’t need perfect—just nice. This will be my first Christmas as a married man, and the last with no kiddies playing around. So a quiet little dinner and a holiday-oriented movie or two will suit me just fine. Just like last year.

3. Do you have any holiday traditions?
Well, for as long as I’ve been with Sarah we’ve done presents after midnight on Christmas Eve (technically it’s Christmas!), and stockings with coffee the following morning. Then an early dinner and some Trivial Pursuit.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I’ll drop a couple of cans into the Food Bank box, but I don’t just do that at Christmas if I can help it. The idea of only doing it once a year offends me a little bit.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
This.
