Rowan was pretending to be a magical princess. A princess so magical that she could make appear any and all girl-things that her sister might wish for. Or any and all boy-things that her father might wish for.
Any? Any.
And all? And all.
Good. Right. So, world peace, then, please Rowan.
“Um, what’s ‘world peace,’ Daddy?”
“Well, you know, we live on the Earth, our world. And people argue and fight and don’t get along. This happens. Just like when you and sister fight. ‘World peace’ is when nobody on the world is fighting.”
“Or,” she says, very thoughtfully. “You could wish for a peanut butter sandwich.”

Rowan: How do you spell I love daddy?

This is a nice little computer, that satisfies the nerd even in me. It’s quite a powerful little machine for tiny hands, and I find it quite refreshing that it’s a computer that’s the size of a toy, rather than a toy that pretends to be a computer.

We’ve set the computer up for the girls on the coffee table, where our laptops live, so that we can all use our computers at the same place in the house. The girls, who always want to be just like Mummy, don’t have to pretend anymore. And with a real web browser, Rowan can play her games from the CBC website on her own computer.
It’s pretty cute, isn’t it? The little green ānā white computer, being used by the wee midgets?
Also pretty cute?
The computer’s point of view:

Just what do you think you’re doing, Dave?
